Take the certificate of completion to the the Sheriff’s Office in the county you live in; after the application fee, appropriate forms and background checks, they will issue you the concealed carry permit. (I would call your local Sheriff’s Office to get a timeline for how long it will take.)
Yes. I can rent you a small caliber handgun with ammunition included, but I think it is a better option, to bring a firearm you plan on carrying after you receive your CCH permit.
We will take regular breaks but will have a working lunch; please plan on bringing a lunch and also snacks with you. The CCH course is 8 actual hours of mandated instruction (this does not include any breaks we take) so to keep the time of instruction bearable we will have a working lunch.
Yes, your Concealed Carry Handgun Permit can be used to purchase a handgun. You will not have to go to the Sheriff’s Office anymore to buy permits.
North Carolina permittees who wish to carry in another state, may obtain a current list of those states which honor the North Carolina permit by visiting the N.C. Department of Justice website at www.ncdoj.gov. Under the Crime and Law Enforcement section, a drop down menu will appear, click on Law Enforcement Training and Standards, click on Law Enforcement Liaison and then click on Concealed Handguns Reciprocity.
Yes. Check the weather the night before and dress accordingly.
You will only need to shoot one handgun, I would choose the one you are the most comfortable with shooting and carrying concealed.
Yes. I will take all the time you need to work with you. In addition to legal issues we also go over shooting fundamentals, gun safety, and gun cleaning. I also offer additional firearms training for the beginner as well as advanced training.
Yes. One on one instruction or smaller classes is also available to students who are looking for Advanced Marksmanship Training, Defensive Shooting and Shooting under Stress; after we discuss exactly what you are looking for we can decide on a price suitable; but since we will be shooting and we enjoy all things that go bang you can guarantee it will not be too expensive!
Centurion Concealed is based in Guilford County – Gibsonville, NC 10 minutes from Burlington and 20 minutes from downtown Greensboro. Upon registering for a class you will be notified as to the exact location of your course (we have several locations we use to conduct the classroom portion of the training).
Because that is the minimum standard mandated by the North Carolina Department of Justice.
You must be 21 years of age and have either a concealed carry permit or a pistol purchase permit obtained from the Sheriff’s Office.
